Tumuli Park - Cheomseongdae Observatory - Anapji Pond
Bulguksa Temple The Temple of the Buddha Land, nestles in the western foothills of Mt. Tohamsan in Gyeongju City. Construction of Bulguksa was started under the supervision of Prime Minister Gim Dae-seong in 751 in the reign King Gyeongdeok of the Unified Silla Kingdom.
The Old Residence of Choi Clan of Gyeongju Gyochon as one of the three famous clans of Korea had wide open grass garden and guest quarter with the showing of long existence. As famous wealthy family in Joseon Era, there are numerous sculpture formative works in its Korean paper door, broad wooden floor and stepping stone and other areas.
Gyeongju National Museum One can get a complete view of the Silla Dynasty at a glance. In an effort to restore the splendid cultural heritage and spirit of arts, the wishes of the citizens of Gyeongju were realized with the opening of the museum in Inwang-dong in 1975. The museum contains 100,000 pieces of valuable relics recovered in and around Gyeongju. Among them, 2,500 items are always on exhibit.
Cheomseongdae Observatory is the oldest existing astronomical observatory in Asia. Constructed during the reign of Queen Seon-deok (632-647), it was used for observing the stars in order to forecast the weather. This stone structure is a beautiful combination of straight lines and curves, and was designated as National Treasure No.31 on December 20th, 1962.
Tumuli Park large ancient tombs of kings and noblemen of the Silla Dynasty can be seen around Gyeongju at the Daereung-won Tumuli Park. There are twenty-three large tombs located here; the most famous ancient tomb being Cheonmachong and Hwangnamdaechong. There are 11,526 remains and crowns of the king inside the tomb demonstrating the lavish lifestyle of the king.
Anapji Pond, According to the historical records of ‘Samguk-sagi,’ was built during the 14th year of King Munmu (in power 661-681 AD) of the Silla Dynasty (57 BC-935 AD). Small mountains were created inside the palace walls, beautiful flowers were planted, and rare animals were brought in to create an exquisitely exotic garden fit for royalty. The pond was originally built in Wolseung Fortress (erected in 101 AD during the Silla period), but the fortress was destroyed and now lies in ruins. Anapji Pond has been restored to nearly its former glory in 1974

Itinerary Taejongdae – Yongdusan Park – Gukje Market -
Busan Modern History Museum - The United Nations Memorial Cemetery
Taejongdae represents Busan and Designated as a Busan monument, along with Oryukdo Island, especially famous for its rock beach. Featuring its highest peak at 250 meters, there are forests of pine trees and other 200 varieties of trees. Taejongdae was named after the 29th king of Silla Dynasty BC57~AD 935), King TaeJong Mu-Yeol (604~661). King TaeJong had traveled to many places but this was the place he enjoyed shooting arrows.
Gukje Market, following the Korean War, refugees who had fled to Busan set up stalls in other to make a living. The market is one of the Korea’s largest markets; each alleyway is crowded with stalls, and it connects to the Bupyeong Market, Kkangtong Market and other smaller markets. The market stocks such a wide variety of goods, that you can find almost everything you need right here. Great buys at the Gukje Market include traditional Korean tableware and bedding set, folk craftwork and more.
The United Nations Memorial Cemetery in Korea honors UN soldiers from 16 countries that were killed in battle during the Korean War from 1950-1953. This serene park spreads across a grassy plain area of 135,000 m2. Some of the sites and memorials include: Memorial Service Hall, Memorabilia Hall, 2 Turkish Monuments, Greek Monument, Australian Monument and British Common Wealth Monument.
