Dear Colleagues,
The 26th Asia Pacific Academy of Ophthalmology Congress, which featured around 700 leading international speakers and more than 2,000 presentations, was held successfully in Sydney. The event attracted over 4,000 participants from 67 countries and received positive feedback from the congress-goers.
After the Sydney meeting, we are most delighted to present to you our cordial invitation to the 27th APAO Congress, which is going to be held on 13th – 16th April, 2012 in Busan, South Korea. The Congress will be held in conjunction with the 20th European Society of Ophthalmology Congress and the 107th Korean Ophthalmological Society Congress. All the parties are excited about such collaboration, for the APAO Congress is one of the most important congresses in the Asia-Pacific region. It is anticipated that over 3,000 delegates and over 500 top-tier international speakers will attend the event. In fact, such a joint meeting is much more than a scientific interaction. In addition to facilitating the exchange of expertise, the Congress is accorded great importance as it provides an invaluable opportunity for ophthalmologists and visual scientists worldwide to network, making the event an occasion that experts would not want to miss.
With its rich history, splendid cultural heritage and natural endowments, Busan is an excellent getaway. A stroll along Haeundae Beach and Gwangalli Beach; a visit to Beomo Temple, which is one of the five greatest temples in Korea; and a leisurely evening at Shinsegae Centum City, the world’s largest department store, will certainly complete your journey.
